beBhakti Yoga Center is a sacred, playful space for all to experience YOGA and Bhakti. It is a safe sanctuary for all to practice, learn and grow.
In Sanskrit Bhakti means devotion. Getting to know ourselves on the mat helps us practice connecting to our fullest potential off the mat. Beacon represents a sacred place in nature, where the water meets the mountains signifying union. This is beBhakti yoga! A place just within us, that creates oneness.

Jody Loving
Having fallen in love with yoga nearly 15 years ago, Jody continues to be surprised and delighted by the practice, and considers it an honor to share her love of mindful movement as an instructor. She believes yoga is for every body, and aims for her students to feel grounded, empowered, and free as they explore the depths of their bodies and hearts.
Jody became a certified instructor in 2012, under the guidance of Ossi Raveh and others at Prana Power Yoga in Brooklyn. Since then, she has studied with many incredible teachers including Schuyler Grant and Nikki Vilella of Kula Yoga Project, Be Shakti (Yin Yoga), Allegra and Nancy Romita (Functional Awareness - Anatomy in Action), and most recently, Chrissy Carter (Yogaworks), with whom she will have completed an additional 300 hours of advanced training by the end of 2021. Jody is inspired and humbled by how much there is to learn, and knows that as she stays on this path of inquiry, both her practice and teachings will continue to evolve and grow.
Jody's background as a trained actor and singer (MFA in Acting from The American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco) has exposed her to a variety of movement modalities, including Laban, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, and Middendorf Breathexperience, and she brings this body of knowledge to bear in her her teaching, as well as her passion for connection and creative expression, and a decent sense of humor. She is thrilled to be a part of the kind and creative Beacon community, and looks forward to meeting you on and off the mat!

William Buk a.k.a The Gangster Yogi
I found the practice of yoga during the pandemic as a last resort to help with my lower back injury (3 herniated discs). Not only did I see positive results in a timely fashion but I fell in love with the practice as a whole. Getting the relief I was looking for was life changing for me and allowed me to live a higher quality of life with much more gratitude. I've since stayed very active with my practice and noticed the mental wonders it was doing for me as well. Naturally I was intrigued and started asking more and more questions about yoga and it's origins. My teacher took notice to my curiosity and pushed me to take her 200HR Yoga Teacher Training. I had no interest in teaching at the time but was definitely interested in learning more about the practice so I did it. I can honestly say finding Yoga and becoming a teacher has been the most pivotal and important part of my life so far. I'm more motivated than ever to further my practice and become a bad ass yogi who delivers some kick ass classes.

Emily Werb
As a child, Emily always sat with her knees up to her chest, comforted by the closeness. As a teenager, Emily imagined her unique perspective as a point in the constellation of the collective consciousness. She wondered, could her point of perspective ever occur again? Could it occur in two places at once? Does this even make sense?
As an adult, Emily still squats and wonders, and teaches Yoga, seeking peace.

Josette Ramnani
Josette Ramnani has been practicing yoga for 15 years and believes in the transformative power of the practice. A daughter of an Indian immigrant, yoga was both a path to personal discovery, as well as a connection to her heritage and culture. Her classes are grounded in a modern understanding of classical concepts, and in each class she aims to connect the body and soul through pranayama and asana, while creating an uplifting and fun environment. She seeks to deepen her students’ and her own connection to the practice by cultivating an understanding of the tenets of yoga, weaving philosophical concepts into the movements, making the esoteric feel embodied and relevant for everyday life.
